The second one is nice, but I think it would be better if the headlights were more angled to the viewer.

    Re: mustang

The third almost reminds me of a shot from a movie - although a little space ahead of the car would have been helpful. I find the doors behind the fourth distracting.

I think the sky was too bright which made the reflections too bright.
The compositions are good except maybe the third one.

I dont think any of these does your car any justice. I feel you need to concentrate on the subject and eliminate as many superfluous elements as possible.

thats the look i was going for and yes the doors distract me as well, but i didnt seem to notice them when i took the picture.

Because he works for "Anthony W Photography" and is Master Guru of the Universe.

I would also be careful on posting others' pix, as some folks get really upset . You can either post a link to the page or, maybe not as good, use the URL link on the toolbar to link to an image but make sure you clearly explain what you did - site, author/photographer owner of the image, etc.

Photographing an automobile requires a very different technique than shooting anything else. You have to work with reflections instead of direct light. A car's surface is like a mirror... it reflects everything around it (especially a black painted surface like yours). So, as a general rule, try photographing your car on an overcast day (you want to avoid direct sunlight). Better still, shoot in the early morning or early evening. This is called "sweet light" because it provides low contrast (to eliminate overly contrasty "blown out" areas), soft shadows and much better shadow detail. But most importantly, look at what is being reflected off your paint: place your car near a beach or open field to avoid telephone poles and wires, etc. As mentioned in an earlier post, avoid distracting backgrounds and concentrate on your subject: the car! Consider zooming in on a detail like wheels, front end, special lines that make your car unique. I'm uploading a shot I took of a classic Corvette just to show you what I mean by softer light and reflections on paint. My shot was taken a few minutes after the sun went down.

By the way, your shot of the front grill showing the pony is excellent, I think.

Not everyone likes car photos, but I do. And I'm sure there are other car nuts (like us) in this forum who would like to see more automobile photos. So keep posting. You've inspired me to dig up a few of mine and posting them.

    By the way, nice Mustang!
    Robert
