    Truckee River RR Tracks

Shot this last week after a light snowfall. I was hoping for a train but no luck. Any critiques appreciated.

A train coming around the corner would be sooo cool, but this is a pretty good shot as is

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

I like it too, yes a train would be nice but this is pretty good as is. Nice shot.

This is a fine shot as is, but I can't help but feeling it would be even better if the camera were tilted up about 3 degrees to include the tops of the trees and put the tracks closer to the lower left corner of the frame.

that's exactly what I was going to say jetrim - I'd like to see the tops of those trees...the line is disrupted now and the flow doesn't mirror that of the tracks. It also looks oversharpened on my monitor - crispy and tough on the eyes. I really like the vantage point and the colors. composition, too is very balanced and pleasing.

    Re: Truckee River RR Tracks

Thanks for the critiques. This is a cropped version. I didn't realize I had cut the tops of the tree off. An easy fix. Thanks for pointing that out. I sharpened it for the web forum but the original is softer. I'm can never seem to get the sharpness correct after compressing the image.

    Thanks again

I like! Is that towards the Reno side of the Sierras?

I found the best way to get the trains is to find out the Amtrak schedule & wait for the train to come through. Much more predicable than freight trains

Great shot, the light snow actually helps in my opinion to give further definition and following the tracks makes for a nice eye pan. Great shot.
