    Ammunition

    This was purely experimental.

I decreased the shutter speed significantly with these rounds on a white drafting table; two lights illuminating.

Here's the slow shutter speed - seems "Glorious" in a way

Nice Experiment! I don't normally like still life pictures, but this one really grabs my attention...probably cause of all the crap that is going on in the world.
The lighting does give the ammo a rather 'holy' glow. I think the picture could have been more interesting with more ammo in rows, lots of ammo.
Thanks also for including the 'boring' picture also. This helps someone like me (a novice) to understand more about the camera.
    Cheers

Thanks for sharing both its interesting to see how other people experiment with things.

Where are the lights and are they diffused. To start with I thought you were using a light box for illumination from the bottom, then I re-read the text.
"I hope we will never see the day when photo shops sell little schema grills to clamp onto our viewfinders; and the Golden Rule will never be found etched on our ground glass." from The mind's eye by Henri Cartier-Bresson

    readingr....

At that white top drafting table, are two typical "swing arm" lamps - the $15 kind. In those, I placed flourescent 12 watt light bulbs that put out the equivilent of 60 watts (each) incandescent. The bulbs are those ones with a swirl (remind me of ice cream cones).

The lamps were located above the ammo on both sides, aimed down and slightly to an angle. No shades, cloth or anything - just plain ol' swing arm lamps.

In case anyone is curious, those are not as big as they look. Smaller diameter bullets than 22s, although the cases are longer. These are HMR .17
