I like the composition although many pet shooters prefer eye level shots. The eyes appear sharp but possibly can be sharper. I'd make some LEVELs adjustments to broaden the tonal values. I bet the shot would look nice in sepia.

Yeah, I'd also suggest uping the contrast. The floor is OK but not real creative or anything.. I wonder if the pic would be warmer if he was sitting around a blanket or there was a fireplace behind him? Of course, might be better in color if that was the case.
