    More B&W flowers...

I took some pics today of some spring flowers...here are a couple that I again tried out in b&w.

    Emily,

Interesting photos you've got. I love the subtle black and white, though these pics almost run a tad cliche in my mind. I love the shadows portrayed in the first one and the third one is probably my favourite.

    Nice black and white work.

Emily - Interesting... I always felt that anyone who shoots a subject that's made for color film in B&W is a photo purist. Are ya? Or maybe you're just in a throwback mode.

The pix are nice. I like the bottom one the best, it has the best overall definition of all the elements. The others are OK too, but the middle part is getting a little lost in the pedals.

Dont know if you used digital or film, but B&W film with a red filter and/or polarizer can really create some wild effects with flowers...

The third is nice, would look great beside your previous post. On the others, nothing really grabs me.

Thanks Jared, GB & payn...I appreciate the comments and feedback.

GB, heh...I'm more in throwback mode right now. I use digital, but interesting that you suggested the red filters...when I was fiddling with the second one, I used a red filter (converting to b&w)...but I think it didn't have the effect I was hoping for.

The third one seems to be the most appealing...I felt the same way when I was looking at these next to each other...heh.

    Thanks again!
