    Mono Lake

Just shot this at Mono Lake, in the California Sierras. Very interesting place. More to come when I get back my slides - this I took with a point-and-shoot digital. But it isn't all that bad, except ?

Except the foreground has a bit to much shadow. ( i'm now looking at it on my lcd screen and it looks pretty good )Since this is the interest of the photo, I would think you would want a bit more detail. I believe that more detail in the foreground would of given you a blown out bg...but I think that would easy to fix in PS and made for a well balanced photo.

A good shot...I think some adjustments in PS can get a bit more detail in the foreground.
I can't wait to see your slides.

    Cheers.

Not too bad at all Yes, I'd like to see a little more detail in the foreground of the rocks, and I see some spots on the water, birds maybe? Other than than very nice selection of scene! I too am looking forward to your slides!

    Re: Mono Lake

Thanks folks -- I think you're right that the contrast between foreground and back is so strong that lose of detail abounds. I guess I'll see how the film likes it. And what's funny (not really) is that I have an expensive graduated ND filter sitting in my bag that I hardly ever use :cryin: , if that isn't totally idiotic I think I'm so busy running around catching the right angles and moment that I space it off... but I'm going to force myself to experiment with it soon. Once you get a little used to something, it's a lot easier.

GB, I really like that unusual rock formation but the vegetation in the foreground is just too much for me. I'd crop a whole slice from the bottom of the image and turn this into a pano.
I like the tones in the water.

Seb - I tried it, but don't know: looks a little constricted to me, even with all the sky.

Guess we'll see how the slides turn out.
