Here is a first pic from a model shoot this afternoon named "Guns and Roses", where the models sport both weapons and flowers (a little odd, but ... I'm just along for the ride :) ). This model has potential. C&Cs welcome.

I think the color and pose are good.
I think it is too tight. Bottom of front arm, not so much the top of the head but the top of her ear missing bugs me. Also that back arm and elbow stick out of her head funny

I like the focus, choice of aperture, and the smooth lighting. Pretty girl in an interesting outfit. Compositionally, it looks a little like she's crammed in a box, like a magician's assistant or maybe a contortionist. :)

Here she is mostly full frame. I wasn't sure about a few issues w/ the entire image .. but I'll not tip my hand on those and instead let you comment.

Btw, she's 17.

Cropped version is better, though I would take it just above the top of the ear. Nice job blending in the specular on her eyebrow, looks very natural. Far arm doesn't bother me, but the nose casts a pretty dark shadow on the far lower cheek - should be easy enough to dodge.

Thanks Jim. Where have you been - out shootin' models? :D I was concerned w/ the full frame one that the small bump of hair on the top of her head didn't look good. Courtesy of me btw :( ... I asked her to stroke her hair feeling it would look more playful/sexy, and in the process her hair bumped up a little as you see. Oh well.

You have an excellent eye for detail on these model shots: I now see the nose shadow, and although I don't feel it's fatal, it would be better w/o it.

Frog, I tend to agree that the half missing ear is classically wrong, but I've also seen posters and mag images like this. I guess things can work even when we break the rules (I'm glad Ronnoco isn't here to comment on that ... :D)

Agree with jet about the crop. I think this one needs to be tight. Not sure about the ear.

Also agree about the nose shadow. Fairly easy fix.

Real nice shot overall.
