I think is really cool. I could see this framed and hanging on an office wall or in a vintage record store. I like the clarity of the images in the foreground. Way to go! (What album were you playing?)

Re: might be my best ever

Racedraper - Very nice shot. The black and white doubles the impact of the image, creating a nostalgic feeling. The perspective is excellent, and the DOF is also good, but not great - the area of focus seems to be the edge of the record and I really think it would be better for it to be the needle (I might be off on this one.. It could be that the needle is within the focal range but was blurred by slight motion). I really think the needle being sharp would help here. The only other critique I have and it is somewhat big is how much that white glare takes over one's attention when they look at the image. The needle area is also very bright, as are the background white things. If you could tone them down a little I think that would be a good thing.

Don't let the above make you think this isn't a good shot btw - it's very good.

I'm thinking the only issue with this one is the focal point although the white blotches in the upper right are also somewhat distracting. Since the white blotches are so out of focus it would be easy for you to darken them without taking anything else away from the image.
    No, I DON'T need that.

I like, the b/w, and high contrast work very well. I also like the reflection of the needle on the vinyl. Nice work.

I really like this pic. Black and white was a good choice for it and gives it a good feel. I agree about the focal point issue. Overall though, great work.

Re: might be my best ever

Excellent composition. i think the placement of the needle/cartridge is perfect as well as the knobs and controls of the set. I actually feel the focal point is good here. It is on the head of the needle nad it looks sharp enough to work. I agree about the bright knobs in the upper right, but they do not bother me to the point that I would do anything about them. Perhaps burning them mdarker might be good.
The b&w is effective in bringing the nostalgia to this subject and the old school feel.
    Nice work
