    Mia 1 year old Portrait

Of course, she didn't sit still for a second, so I only managed to get about 4 images while she walked into my lightsource. (but I made them count).

Hodgy, there's a lot I like here...I'm not a professional, by any means, so critique on technique you'll have to get from someone else...but the stuff that stands out to me: I love how nicely she stands out against the muted background, and how the background color seems to complement the colors in her dress. I like that there is sharpness in what seem like the right places (to me), but an overall softness in the baby.

AND my favorite part of this...the little pudgy wrists. But that's more the baby's doing than yours...hehehe. Very sweet photo.

    James,

Love the shot. Emily made some good points so I wo'nt repeat her. I love the shot, the subtle colors are done well. My only nitpick, and would be hard to change considering your photographing a child, would be the shadow on the arm on the left. It just appears a little harsh on the arm compared to the relatively subtle and bright colors of the rest of the shot.

    Well done,

    Jared

Hey Jared, yup, I agree, that bugged me too. She was just out of range from my reflector.

    James,

I bet portrait shots for children is a pain. I don't know if I'd have the patience to try to get that "one" shot. Hopefully the pay is worth it

    Good shot,

    Jared
