mermaid theme
Was approached to help out a photog friend at the studio yesterday. The model had brought an "inspiration shot" to work off of. Wondering if the post is believable enough? I've included the original shot for reference only...

Re: mermaid theme
the processing is really really good ,
the pearls help a lot and love the processing on them
the outfit of the model doesn't fit any of my mermaid stereotypes, black top ?

Re: mermaid theme
Armando, I totally agree about the top, it's out of place. Sadly, I wasn't in charge of wardrobe and she didn't have anything better. She was also too timid to go topless with shells covering the sensitive parts so I'll probably use the affect on one of the other shots from the session that's cropped in tighter. It's the only part that really bothers me about this one...

Re: mermaid theme
Here's the other mermaid, a little more daring, but not much

Re: mermaid theme
really creative pp James... it's different... I think it's just too sharp and clear for an underwater look.

Re: mermaid theme
love the pp jet. the 2nd shot is also great. Really looks like under water to me!
Also all the technical aspects seem just about perfect.

Re: mermaid theme
Nicely done, Jim. I agree about the top. Also, I think as Phil stated the 2nd image may be a bit too sharp for underwater, although I like that image overall very much. Good work here..

Re: mermaid theme
Very nice, Jim. I like what you have, but .. I also wonder what it would be like as a full body shot, digitally edited so that her lower torso was a big fin like a 'real' mermaid? Touch shot I know .. you might have to climb up on a multi-level structure to get it. I also wonder if it would be better topless, as I can't see a mermaid wearing a shirt. But .. it does look fine as is. Cool effect.
