    Joshua Tree NP

Pretty sure I've posted this before, though I can't be certain. Scanning some old 645 film today with my day off and ran across this .. comments? It may be too tight a crop.

I don't mean this to sound negative, but it kind of looks like a really great background for a portrait.

The shapes and the color palette are nice.

That's not negative, Daq. I can see what you mean. Perhaps a pic of a person w/ hiking gear standing there on the left 1/3 of the frame. Not a bad idea for someone who wants a cover pic for a CD

I really like the natural color of the 645. It think it is a beautiful shot.

I really like the colors and textures. Very good scan, too, from what I can tell. I could never get my 645 scans to look good - even if I paid someone else big bucks to do 'em.

I can see what daq means. You should go back sometime and do a portrait session there. That said, this shot is beautiful on its own.

Thanks fellows. I may try that portrait idea. Dray, I think Mamiya lenses have something to do with it too. They're professional grade, where a lot of 35mm lenses are really designed and created with cost in mind.

Beautiful colors combination and tonality. i agree it would make a great background or environment for a model shoot, but what you have here now stands on its own.
there is always something to say about good natural lighting, and that we have plenty here.
    Very nice.
