Marching Band
I need some help with taking photos of marching bands. The first I'm fairly pleased with, although the color was a bit muted (punched it up in ps). It's the second that bugs me: shadows on the faces. In this photo I tried using a flood on the ground pointing up, but it wasn't even close to enough light to avoid the face shadows. I haven't a clue about flashes. I'm using a Canon D30, Canon 70-200 L F4 USM lens. Recommendations for what I need to use to avoid the shadows like this?

Aperture Value = 4.0
ISO Speed = 100
Focal Length = 200.0 mm

Re: Marching Band
A fill flash from in front and below the subjects is what you need. Needs to be attached to the PC Sync socket on your camera.

Good job, but I'd try to get a little more detail in the white plumes (kinda blown out). The faces on the first two are good, but the third has too much shadow.
