    Well, I think you have it framed well enough, but my nitpick is the color looks a little flat, and I believe this would work better as a b & w. JMHO.

    The second one is much better, it seems a bit hazy or soft from my screen.

    The adjustments in the second do improve the photo. I am not as sure of the composition, specifically how the right hand portion of the photo interacts with the frame at both the edge and the top. It isn't 'regular' or straight and lessens the impact of the columns.

    There several ways this could be shot to emphasize the light play across the floor, and one is to only include the left columns or the archways and let the shadows do the rest.

    Your eye caught a good location, I think you could exploit this at different times of day, lighting variations, and produce an interesting series or a study.
