Wonderful content and I especially like the solitary, last-man-in-the-world feel to this photograph.

A little soft compared to some of your work.

Reminds me of old downtown Detroit 25 years of so ago.

Another good one Tuna. The guy looks so small and timid in such a big city. He reminds me of Wally Cox. Nice capture, as always.

A worthy subject but I feel the composition is off though I realize we can't have it all in street photography.
I believe the subject is too close to center and the light pole running through the sign on the building bothers me.
If the man were standing right on the corner of if he had been shot straight on, I think it would have worked better.

The man is certainly what gets my attention. He has a very 'displaced' look - like he's from a different time or place. - TF

i also feel the man is to centered, although its close to working in this image. the light pole doesn't bother me as there are many other strong vertical lines spread through out the image ( building corners, the other post etc.)

I really like it Tuna. Very nice tones and good placement of the subject. a really nice scene.

the mood/feeling of loneliness and the insignificance of man oozes from this photo and is almost overpowering.

Wouldn't change a thing. Beautifully captured.

Vertical format may have been even better with Charlie Chaplin dwarfed by the height of the buildings whilst still including the corner.

I love this picture. The man is so vulnerable looking, and he has oodles of Charlie Chaplin appeal. The cane, the glasses, his patient stance, the coffee, the shopping bag, the mustache, all add character. He is patiently law abiding; most people would jaywalk on this deserted street. Too bad it didn't come out sharper, but great shot!

I was thinking exactly the same and then I read your post, funny how people can think alike this much.
