Re: The magpie & the Crow
That bottom shot is wonderful! The top shot looks kind of odd IMO, because I cant really see anything about the subject. I know it is a bird, but that is all I can tell. Nice work on #2!
Re: The magpie & the Crow
I think maybe try a tighter crop on the first, to bring him more into the image and making it more about his form than his flight?
The second is brilliant!! Well done. I'm going to have to shoot me some birds this summer and see if I can't try and capture something.
Re: The magpie & the Crow
Oh, just one thing on the second. Have you thought about cloning out the weed that is directly under him? It's slightly distracting from all the beauty of your capture
Re: The magpie & the Crow
Bev, you get some great catches...:) I really love the photo of the magpie, and while yeah, it could be sharper, the bird's markings are so striking that it almost doesn't matter that much, at least to me. I agree with D about maybe cloning out the weed. Nice shots!

Re: The magpie & the Crow
Thanks everyone for your comments and advice, i can see what you mean about the clutter of weeds,(I should of noticed that myself) and i have now cloned them out, (as attached) and i have slightly cropped the crow image a bit more, is this better?
Re: The magpie & the Crow
Bev,
I think these are lovely photos, I just wish they were a little sharper. I love the lighting on the crow and the way its flying. The colours and flight profile of the magpie is excellent, perhaps a faster shutter speed next time.

Re: The magpie & the Crow
Bev, the second pair of images are great. Cloning out the weeds and cropping the crow shot really helped both of them. The could be a little sharper, but I think they stand as they are just fine. It is not an easy thing getting images on the wing, so to speak.

ITA! I really like what you did with the images. :)
