Good one, Seb. Those hot dog stands are a common sight throughout N.Y. This might be a good candidate for b&w, but it works nice as it is. Is this Broadway, just above where the Bull is?

    Hi Seb,
The idea is good. I find the trash can near the centre a bit distracting and the PS seems too much.
    All the best.

    Thanks Gary.

Indeed, this is exactly on Broadway, few feet past the Bull. Say, what is that Bull? I assume that there was an information plate somewhere at the base of the Bull but zillions of tourists wanted to be shot in front of the said Bull. It was so crowded that I just slowed down to try to admire the sculpture...

Thanks Yoyo but which trashcan??? lol

About the PS, I'd like you to further explain your thought. I did worked the shot. I actually burned the umbrella and some of the pedestrians as the light was harsh and then, the usual unsharp mask but that is pretty much it. Post processing is something that I am currently learning so any opinions on "do and don't" is much useful to me at that point.

    best regards

I think the trash cans in Hong Kong must be blue.

Mistake again! LOL!. The trash cans here have different colour and some are blue. Back to the photo, the overall feeling is a bit unnatural, is it due to over sharpening?
    All the best.

Perhaps. I had difficulty to get the sharpness right on this one for some reasons. The original full res image have a more natural feel to it. Thanks for explaining your point of view.

    Re: Lunch time

The bull, from what I vaguely remember, was sculpted by an Italian sculptor who left it ( had it dropped off by truck no doubt) at the door of the stock exchange, as a gift of sort. It was moved about the city in search of a good spot for it and ultimately it wound up here, close to the exchange. Perhaps it represents the Bull market which is good times for the exchange. I heard once it is the most photographed thing in N.Y.C. Needless to say, it is a tremendously beautiful piece of work.
About your photo. I personally don't see what Yoyo sees here. To me, it just looks like the lighting was strong and is making some things in the shot really pop. But I do not feel as if this has been worked at all. Just my 2 cents

    Seb,

Great shot, Love the post boxes. Adds a nice touch to the left side of the frame.

    Nice shooting,
