Long time no post

Hey... its been a while since I posted something. I have been busy with work. I just got a new Camera, and this is one of my first experiments... be harsh... be cruel... make me cry :)

The subject and composition are fine but the lighting is unbalanced and you were to far away. The dead leaves don't help. Try shooting flowers on cloudy days or in complete shade and watch out for distracting surroundings or backgrounds. I am glad you are back and thanks for shareing.

I actually did the lighting thing on purpose because I thought it would make the shot more interesting. Oh well, that why its an Experiment :)

I do the same, that's why I post here. You find out quick if it works or not. But don't just listen to one opinion. We all have different taste as well. I hope you hang around and post a lot more...

I appreciate the centering of the subject in this shot. I feel it works here in that you set up the subject with a green mat of leaves. The lighting effect is interesting, but what hurts for me is the hot spots. As greg mentioned shooting on a cloudy day, or time when the sun is not so harsh would correct this.The Orange flowers in the top right corner can be eliminated to clean up the composition. Basically the lighting is too hard here, but I do like the shadow play you brought in.
