Roger, i think you have composed this in a way that makes it more artistic and interesting. What is wrong here is the snow is not white as it should be, but instead gray. This is a common problem with a cameras auto exposure system bwhen exposing bright scenes like snow or sand on the beach. The camera is fooled by the brightness and under exposes the scene. I tries doing a levels and gray point adjustment but it still does not look quite right. the image also appears to be somewhat soft in focus.
Thanks I took this just before sunrise and on full manual under very grey clouds, I couldn't get the camera aperture big enough to give me the speed to hand hold it without camera shake + I was freezing as it was still snowing a very fine snow and -3 centigrade.
I took it as RAW and even in RawShooter I can't recover the snow as white.
I just felt I had to take it just in case it came out okay.
Thanks for the feedback
Roger

Roger - I think the subject's ok, but besides the tilt the angle you shot it at is somewhat pedestrian. Maybe if you bumped up the contrast too it would take it seem more errie.
I know about shooting in the snow. But hang in there, snow shots are worth it. There's something majestic about them.
We don't get enough snow here to practise! LOL This snow lasted all of 2 hours and its the only snow we had all winter so far.

Thanks for the reply - I think I'll bin this purely because of the gray snow and it never really worked for me as it stands
Looked at the crop you suggested and you could be right.

I actually like the effect of the grey snow. It gives it sort of an eerie feeling, saying Where Is This Leading Me To? And for me the dulled green blades of grass add to this feeling.
I'd like to see the transition in the upper right a bit less sharp.
But then again - JNHO.
