I had to adjust the white balance to REDUCE the saturation on this thing. The yellow really is that vibrant.

I think this is not bad. even though it is a dead on shot, the fact that you did not center it and the other buds popping up next to the subject makes it balanced and work nicely as a composition. I know how difficult it is to tame these colors as they have a tendency to explode and lose detail, but you did a fine job taming the vibrant yellows here. I only think it looks a bit muted and a slight up in the highlights would help as well as a bit unsharp mask. Also like the bg with its shades of green.

You do yellow flowers especially well, Seb. Beautiful.

This one works for me, Seb. Nice job! I especially like the composition as well, not to mention the depth this photo brings to the eyes.

Nice image, I like the perspective. The top of the buds in foucs with the flower is great.

That's just your opinion as a photographer. There is nothing wrong with flowers being sharp. I do agree that flowers shouldn't be over sharpened, which creates those ugly side effects like "halos".

Technically I think this is a very nice job, the color is good, tones are nice, it has some depth below it, right touch of sharpness for my eye etc.

The only thing about this and well I don't know if there is an answer to it but these shots seem to be a dime a dozen. That being said when you show them to people they still will ooh and ahh :)

A second look at it and what I really like are the buds that are coming up underneith it on the right side of the photo. Without them I think it could be tossed in the extremely thick book of flower photos that is sitting around somewhere.

Overall I'd say its a nice shot.

It look superb the way it is as far as I am concerned. I really like the depth effect and the rather unusual point of view.

Looks great, I don't see anything that is a technical mistake or oversight.

IMO personally, I'd use selective color to take some of the greenish tint out of the flowers, and subdue the background. Thats all I have to say about that.

Maybe so but as you have mastered this art form how about branching out (lol) and going for more exotic flowers.? These have been shot and shown so many many times.........

I totally agree with you. However, what seperates this for me is that I never take flower shots, and I really appreciate the bueauty of the garden in front of my work building. These shots, more than anything, are for me. I just wanted to get input to see if there's any way to make them better, for myself.

There is nothing to this image to someone that's viewing it from your perspective, but there is a lot of feeling behind it for me. If this was someone else image, I would feel just as you, and I totally understand where you're coming from.
