    light
does this work for anyone? my wife really likes it but i have misgivings. This is not the kind of shot i usually do at all (way out of comfort zone), so would like some feedback and criticism.

    regards

PS: this was taken in a lighthouse in county cork

I like it except for the piece of paper intruding on the shot on the right hand side. I was drawn in to the shot and was asking myself why lightbulbs, then noticed the lighthouse and the writing and was compelled to take the time and read the words despite the fact they were backwards (add to the interest of the shot) for me this is captivating.

I like it, htere is a certain coldness to the shot that is comforting, the background drew me in more than the bulbs and the drawing is intriguing.

It's a nice shot. I agree with Bajan about the sheet of paper on the upper right. It also looks a little dark, and I would try shifting the histogram right a little. This also looks like a good subject to try a B&W conversin on. May add to the timeless mood.

    Just thoughts...

I took the liberty of making it a Sepia tone shot. It does give it a nice mood....

thanks everyone for your comments, I had tried cropping that bit of paper out unfortunately if removed, a part of the bulb goes with it so... As for B&W, i like it also, but having looked at both, i feel that this is already essentially a black and white shot and that hint of blue just adds a little something and draws you in to the background a bit more, as Herriot pointed out. The BG doesn't seem as interesting in black and white.

Thank you all for your time

I like this but it looks to me as if the background is upside down. It would be nice to see the writing.
