    Late Night Shopping

Stocking up on vegetable supplies in Little India in Singapore.
Am not sure about the blur around the moving figure, does this image work for anyone?

    Many thanks in advance

I like this. The aesthetic is strong. Your framing and overall composition is strong. The blur does not bother me in the least, actually, it seems to go along with the mood that the weird lighting is creating. This is appealing. good work

I love this shot, Herriot. The colors and light are great, and I like the different patterns of the veggies, brick/cement on the ground & the baskets. I don't mind the blur either, I think it fits pretty well.

    Hi Herriot,
I like the 3 different lighting on the wall. To me, the blue tint on the right adds tension to the shot. I keep thinking why the guy is buying veggies and why the shop owner sells these things at night.

Thank you all for your responses, I am going to agree with you that the blur is useful and will keep this as it is.

Yoyo - Just to answer your question, this photograph was taken in Little India in Singapore where all of the migrant Indian workers meet on a Sunday evening to socialise and to stock up on provisions. Primarily construction workers, these guys only get Sundays off work (some of them only Sunday afternoon and evening) so the wet market does a great trade in the late hours.

Thanks again for all of your feedback, it is greatly appreciated!

This shot is awesome The blur really works but the three different color lights against the wall make this really great for me. Then, you got the multiple layers starting with paving bricks, two layers of veggies, and the wall of course. Everything is put together by the shopper who isn't static in great composition!

    Very cool!

    Re: Late Night Shopping

What I like about this is that the lighting brings out the texture in the walls which complements the vegetables and sets them off beutifully, along with the colours of the light. The addition of the person gives it that late night feel and the paterns of the bricks/paving leads the eye to the focus, the veg.

    Excellent.
