    Feedback on portrait shoot please

Another one in the series from the portrait shoot this past Saturday down in Olympia. Feedback is always welcome. Thank you.

Same critique as the other - those straight-line folds on the fabric are distracting - I would do something in pp to eliminate them, considering its a solid black that shouldn't be too hard with clone/heal... Looking at her hair, are you shooting f/5.6?

For future reference if you have multiple shots to be critiqued of the same set at least put them in the same thread, rather than making a new thread per image.

Looks like dof is a little shallow to me. Would like to see her face a little more crisp.

Not trying to be contrary but I particularly like that shallow dof - where just the face is in focus. I think I'm in the minority on that though. I wouldn't mind even 1/2-1 stop wider.

as I see it, the dogs face is in focus and the girls is slightly out of focus.

I like this dog portrait, but would like the girl to be more blurred.

If the girl was in focus, I would try and change her pose or framing to remove the jeans. She has a really nice expression on her face and kids and dogs just go great together.

I wish I could rub the dogs ears....I have a soft spot for Boxxers.

Actually now that its mentioned the dogs face could stand to be a bit softened.

Can't add much more to that already said. I don't like the pink in the top the girls wearing, for me it's distracting. S
