To kiss a frog
Here's a shot of the fabled frog before he turned to a prince. What do you all think?
-
Re: To kiss a frog
Awesome. Love the picture.

Re: To kiss a frog
Photographically, I like everything except the bg which I find distracting.
The thing about frogs wanting to be kissed to turn into a prince is a myth.
What frog, in his right mind, would want to leave a comfortable life in the pond, just waiting for dinner to fly by?
Princes have to go to meetings, meet boring people, wear uncomfortable clothing, etc., etc.

Re: To kiss a frog
Hi,
It is a lovely picture. Just wish the backgroud had been more blurry as Frog suggested.

Re: To kiss a frog
I like the whole thing including the background. The color in the background behind her face works well for me. If the green would have been behind her face it would have changed the whole picture. It is also basically the same shape as her face, Jeff

Re: To kiss a frog
As soon as I saw this, I figured we were going to get a little frog philosophy. lol
Good pix, and a creative idea, but I think it might have been better if her lips were closer to the frog. Seems like she's puckering too soon.

Re: To kiss a frog
Thanks for the responses. I do wish the BG was a little more blurred...I'll try to do it in PS. Also, I thought about moving her closer, but then her face would have been cradled by the frog's hand and I wanted a little space between the subject and frog.

I love this photo. I too wish the background surrounding the frog were different, but I wouldn't take off points for what you have. I am most impressed with the soft texture, the outstanding colors and would appreciate any remarks you could offer in how you achieved this. Exposer is perfect, nothing blown out and nothing too dark. Great idea, well done!

P.S. I don't know what your relationship is to the model, but if you have anything to say about it, don't let those lips touch that frog!

Re: To kiss a frog
Sure thing Coastal Flyer...I used a 50mm 1.4 at ISO 320. I believe I was using AV and according to the exif, the color temp was 5500K. It was a mostly cloudy day and we were in a courtyard in Sedona, AZ...ambient lighting. I believe I tweaked either the saturation or vibrance and also probably a little with contrast. I reduced clarity to give it a more dreamy effect too. And yes, I will make sure my wife doesn't kiss anymore frogs after this one!
Here's another version of this photo...with added blur.

Thanks for the tips. Again, very nice shot. You might think about printing this and hanging it in your home.

I really like this photo. I do agree, the 2nd edit is even better... but if I hadn't seen the
