Kinda weird...

I was at a party last night, and was just randomly shooting. Got home, looked at this one, unsharp masked it in Photoshop and wahla!

Hello Finch, I like this. I really like how you composed the picture with the face of the girl so cut. Also, the fact that her eye is so dark make the whole thing pretty spooky (and the tone/lighting in the background further emphasise this). To sum things up it looks like a carefully planed shot rather than a random one.

Hey fp,

Another mtbr.com guy showing some fotos, eh? Not like we don't see them on Passion.

As for the shots, it's always neat to see what comes out when just shooting casually. For me, I think some become great portraits... not too contrived. What I really like about these is the colors and texture as well as the unique composition. Is USM all you did in PS?

I guess the big challenge would be to figure out how to do it without the pop-up flash. The light is harsh on closer parts. Maybe figure out how to shoot with a remote flash at the next party. The shadow in the 2nd also distracts. Maybe crop off some of the bottom?
