Jumping for life

Hello, I am a total newbie learning about Photography and also learning the photo tools! All of which is a bit overwhelming.

However, I love constructive criticism!! It is how I learn best! Here is an image I took a couple weeks ago in Durango, CO on top of a unique geologic mountain called Hogsback.

The thinking behind the shot was to focus on the wife, and contrasting the blue sky with minimal focus to the horizon.

Things I noticed I should figure out.

1) Crop the image to get her shadow from the bottom right.
2) I am torn on if I should have had a faster shutter speed to remove the blurred feet, but this does give the impression of movement...
3) I had a real hard time trying to learn what I should adjust in the Digital Photo Professional tool provided by Canon. I dabbled with a variety of settings and saved the image as a jpeg.
4) I also felt I should have chosen a different color clothing, i.e. coat, hat, pants for her to wear to bring out the colors of the sky and maybe not blend in so much with the back drop terrain.

My Camera, Canon EOS Rebel T2i with the standard lens with purchase (EFS18-55mm)

I saved the file from the original RAW to jpeg...

I like it I just wish there was a little more space at the top. The clothes looks fine to me, it matches the surroundings.

Looks fine. I do wish she was smiling however.

I also like it. Greg and n8 touched on the two most important points for me too. the top of head being close to the edge and her expression.
