And still I manage a smile for Mummy

I was trying to take pictures of Danielle holding her Gold Medal. She had really had enough and started to cry but she still managed a smile for me and the camera. Bless her.

Love the bw tones. What makes this shot beyond ordinary is the angle and the irony of a smile with tears. Nice sharp eyes as well. You really know how to use that lens. Very nice and pleasantly unique.

Seems a tad bright (?) Nice shot though.

Alison - No, not really enough. You need to expt with this one. I'd start with -1 or -2 f stops.

    Hi Alison

Love the B&W and I can feel the tears of joy in this shot, I agree it could use a little more contrast though.

I love the mix of emotions that you've captured here... and while the contrast could be a bit more pronounced, I don't think it takes away from the mood of the photo at all. The angle is fantastic. One of my weaknesses when I shoot portraits is that I'm not comfortable playing with angles. Great job!!
