    Jellyfish
This is an older photo that I took with an Olympus DSLR. I want to go back to the aquarium with my Canon 50d, but would like suggestions on how to improve a shot like this. (One thing I know, I shot this in a low resolution)

I'll suggest the fastest lens you have, I do not think you can go wrong with the 50D

Another thing to try getting all the tentacles in the shot.

Polarizer to reduce haze/glare from the glass, unless you really need that extra shutter stop.

I like it. I do see a little noise. I would try to prevent that from happening the next time.

Given the blue background, I'm guessing you shot this in an aquarium. I think you've got some good suggestions so far, but I would second Hector's comment about getting all the tentacles in the shot. Also, try to get the jellyfish when he's in better light (if possible). I've done these sorts of shots as well and you have to use your fastest lens and a higher ISO because they're really pretty dark places.
