    Investigating Rose--comments anyone?

A bee checks out a Rose Of Sharon, looking for a little good stuff.
Photographed in my backyard this summer.

    Nikon D70
    Nikkor 70-300mm
    natural light @ 1/1000 sec, f 5.6, 300mm. exposure bias .33
cropped, and saturated a little. Bee's body was colorized slightly.

Great pic, though the buds onthe top left take away from the otherwise strong composition. Nice colors, though a little more saturation wouldn't hurt. Nice shot,

    Ummm....it's a hibiscus

Ok, now that I have that off my chest: I agree. I like how it's composed in a soft "s", from the upper left to the lower right. Even the flower seems compressed to allow the eye to continue the curves unimpeded. Which I think is why, in spite of being centered, it still works well. The buds wouldn't bother me except that they mess up my "S". I love saturation and contrast so I always push for it, whether it needs it or not.
