    Incoming Storm
Caught this at the right time of day as a northeaster came in.

Appreciate any C & C.......the more brutal the better.

BTW....I don't post many critiques myself as I don't feel like I have much to add......but, I lurk a lot and learn from every critique I read........just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you who share your knowledge so freely....I think it's made me a better snapper.

Those are some great clouds. My problem with the shot is that there is nothing to put them in context, i.e. foreground subject.

As for critiquing, I found it one of my most helpful tools for learning. Makes me pay attention to my own as much as I pay attention to the details of others.
I am far from an expert but sometimes people actually agree with whatever I noticed.

This would make a great wallpaper. It's a stock photo for sure.

    Hi Len:

Wonderful colors on this one. I agree with Frog in that the clouds are better if put into some kind of context. It looks from the lower right hand corner that there's a sunrise/sunset going on that creates the change in color. Maybe if that orange would fill the bottom of the frame with a slight horizon?

Thanks for all the comments so far.

Unfortunatly, this was an opportunistic capture.........I happened to look out the back window of the house and the clouds from the incoming storm were amazing.........the bad news is that the only thing in the back lanscape are not worth taking a picture of...so no contrast was available...........driving somewhere else wasn't an option as we had company. I thought of it, but choose peace at home over the picture.

It is my current wallpaper BTW.

    Thanks again

It is missing a UFO on the bottom left corner.

Did you use a split ND filter?

I'd like a squarer crop for this one, you could probably use the original and just crop from the left instead of the bottom. You could also crop a tad from the right as you have that yellow sky thing going on in the bottom right.

No ND filter...I need to get a couple of those.

    UFO was eradicated! :D

    I'll try the squarer crop.....thanks.
