    Barb Wire

I am not sure how strong this is and would like a comment or two on it. I like the idea and do this type of image often, but this seem to lack something to give it some zing. What do you think? Fuji FinePix S602, Handheld 1/50 at f4.4 ISO 200 3MP.

I love the picture. I might try it in black and white though, I think this would add a bit more mood to the shot.

You have a wonderful image here...I Love textures and between the blur of the background and the wood and rusted wire...I'm totally excited about this image...my only nitpik is to clone out the pole in the background and the darker edge of the horizon. I know composition and tastes are all subbjective but the color and light and composition all really work for me....nice image....

I think it's pretty good as is - but I did see the two things Natalie mentioned. If the camera was positioned was changed just a little you wouldn't have those two things in your shot. Got alot of it around here too - it was patented about 40 miles from here about 150 years ago. Who would'a thought - northern IL?

    No clone policy???

Thanks for the comments on this image. I think you all have valid points about ways the photograph could be improved. I am a little old fashion about removing objects from a photograph. Don't mean to be a prude, but I seldom will even move an object from the field of view, let alone clone it out of an image. If I can eliminate it by changing my position or depth of field great, but to remove it after the image is recorded has always been a no no. Just how I was raised in a photo journalist environment. Maybe if I learned to use photoshop more effectively I would change my mind. As for changing to B&W no problem with that the first several years as a photographer that's all I shot. I tried this image as B&W and just didn't feel it had enough pop to stand up.

I really appreciate your comments and feed back. This is by far the best forum on the web to get constructive help on a photograph without feeling you are being run through a shredder.

    like!

i like this kind of shot personally. i like it in color too because of the mossy green color on the wood which really stand out and are complimented by the rusty wire. the dof is good too... great blurring of the background. the pole in the background doesn't bother me too much, but i agree the shot would be a bit better without. pleasing and calming to view! i've been back to it a few times....

    cheers!

Yes this is good. I agree with with others comments about the pole in the background, but not a big issue. Could easily be cloned out if you wanted. I like the old weathered posts and the rusty barbed wire. Good eye for a shot.
