I like shiny things

This is a car that was sitting outside my restaurant the other night.
I liked his rims so I had to take a picture.
Just got a new b&w polarizer that day so I used that. I am not sure if I used it right... or if there is really a wrong way to use it or what.
BTW the reflection is of my restaurant. I have the far half of that building.
Please let me know what you think. I was playing with ps. I hope i didn't go overboard.. or underboard i guess.

I like the angle,comp...but it seems oversaturated,flat Tiff.With the filter you'll have to compensate as the metering will be off.I feel there is a great art in Old Classic Cars,they can be some fascinating shiny things.

I don't like what the jpg's colors look. like seems more vibrant in the psd.
here is a brightened one.

I was shooting some similar today and I think there's one in my gallery.
Either the hubcaps aren't clean or just old as the reflection should be tack sharp.
I usually end up shooting from about the same angle to keep myself out of the reflection..not as easy as it sounds.
Very good composition.

The polarizer reduces glare just like polarized sunglasses do.
You probably have a circular one that is polarized more on one side. Usually it helps with skies and clouds.
Turn the polarizer so that it polarizes the part of the shot you want. It probably has a mark on the ring which shows the top of the polarization.
BTW its a B+W filter....not b&w

my mom bought it for me for my b-day. a little much if ya ask me, but I bet it's a nice piece of glass.

I think it was an old restored hub cap, but I prolly didn't focus right either.

Tiff, that little flare of light on the passenger side door is a bit distracting. Other than that, I really don't have anything to complain about. Good effort and good composition.

Tiff, both of these versions work for me on every level. I find that there is a softness to the overall image but in a positively delightful and dreamy way. I think the polarizer seems to have kept the hard reflections and glare to an acceptable level in all that chrome. Also brought out some nice tone and definition in the clouds. Great composition.

btw, are you using PS? If so, are you creating your web versions by "Save for Web" selection? I find that way reduces the colors and tones too much. When I remember I use "Save As" and find it keeps the image looking more like what it did in it's high res form. I'm not sure what benefit "Save for Web" offers, but I think it tries to make it acceptable for all browsers. I find "Save As" works just fine on IE and seems to with others as well.

I think the composition is outstanding. I am not sure if the colors are true or not but to me the whole image looks a little pale and soft but that doesn't bother me a bit.

I always use save as. I was curious about the save for web one but have not tried it.
Those are very close the the original colors. I also find it a little dull, in ps it seems much more vibrant.
