    Modern Day Mike Mulligan

    Hi all,

Not meant to be an "artistic" submission, but more a documentary type shot. This is a deep hole dug in a small plot. I don't know how they are going to get the lower Cat out. Does this image tell this story, or do I just know it because I've watched it?

    Thanks,
    Tim

    Dear Tim,

I would say, that even if this is not supposed to be a documentary shot, it should still be composed well. I would get rid of the chain link fence next time, just avoid shooting through it at all costs. Like I said, even if this is a documentary shot, you can still make it interesting. A different angle or closer shot, something different.

I want to see further down, and the fence is too sharp in focous for me. I want tio see the bottom of the hill the big track is on.

Thanks for the input guys. Just to get an idea of how deep that hole is, check out the size of the bottom Cat compared to the top Cat.... or even the white truck across the way. That's in a smallish city block. I have no idea how they are going to get that guy out!

But, the photo doesn't convey this well. That's the benefit of this group. My memories influence what I see in my images. Ergo, I depend on your candid assessment.
