Everything looks pretty nice here, Seb. Your exposure and colors and composition are all very nice. Nice detail in the textures, too. The shadow on the lower half of the statue doesn't quite work for me here, but it's not a change I would make when shooting in B&W. Basically, I feel that everything you did right on this type of shot would be made even better in high-contrast B&W. I have absolutely no idea what "feel" you would prefer, but to me, this shot just screams "Plus-X with a few filters on top".
I don't mean to cut down your shot the way it's done here... I think you did it exactly right for a color shot. I was just offering up my own take on it.

Thanks a lot for your comprehensive analysis! Actually I will admit that I am more drawn toward b&w when there are clouds in the sky which allow to really pull something dramatic with some post processing. I haven't even tried to convert this shot into b&w because the sky appeared too flat to me at first glance. I feel rather comfortable with the color rendition here but your comment makes me want to figure out how it could looks like in b&w.
