HELP! There's power lines in the way!!

As some of you know, I do not know how to photoshop. I have 7.0 and know there must be something I can do but I don't know how. I have these images I shot this w/e in California but there are these very distracting power lines that muck it all up. How do I get them out of there?/:mad2:

The clone tool is a good one.

Do you have Photoshop or similar?

Initially clone at 100% opacity, and then for blending, clone a little more at 50% or 40% opacity.

Something else to do, is make the power lines beneficial to the image, though this is incredibly difficult, sometimes you can use them to lead to parts of the image, give depth, etc.

Hmmm....well, I have photoshop 7.0 and I have seen teh clone tool but I'm not sure what to do with it. I can get it to activate but what to do after that? ..I just tried while I was reading this and I can see this will take soe time and practice. I will repost as I get the hang of it. I know where you took those photos...the living ghost town of Randsburg. I've done plenty of metal detecting in the El Paso mountains across the valley, so that's how I know. I've shot the church before too, and yes, the power lines are a pain but you can easily clone then out. I have PS 6.0, so in this version all you have to do is select your brush, set the opacity and size, hold your option key (at least on a Mac) and click your mouse the portion of the image that you wish to clone (or copy), and then place the brush over the area that you intend to apply the clone and click your mouse button again. It takes a little practice and setting up of the brush to your liking, but it's not difficult once you learn it.

Another thing you might want to try experimenting with is the Healing Brush tool. Select the tool and pick a point just a hair above the powerline and Alt-Click to select that as your "copying" point. Now click on the powerline and drag the length of the line. Experiment with brush size and opacity for best results.

Hmmm....ok, I think I can do this. I really appreciate the words of wisdom because once I take the picture, I am totally clueless in post production. I will work on a couple tomorrow and respost. Thanks again!!

Forgot to ask you...did you get yourself a rootbeer float at the general store while you are there? My friend and I, after we would get done detecting on a hot day, would drive up to Randsburg just to get one. They tasted soooo good after a long, hot day of prospecting!

hahaha...actually no! There was a dirtbike event going on that I was trying to stay out of the way of plus the over 300 images I shot. I was so busy and there were so many people there that I never went into any of the businesses. Now I'm disappointed that I missed that!!!:mad2:

Hey Carl!! Yes, I was in Cali but only fri and sat. Had to go back home sun. I was in Kern cty for these but was visiting in Victorville. These were from Randsburg. I just posted some more called Discarded that are some of the old vehicles there. I am going to post some more later. Thanks for checking them out and I an glad you liked them. (let me know what you think of the one of the old lady. I might have some plans for her pic!)
