I like the composition a lot, I don't even have an objection to the blown highlights in the center of the beach but the foreground color looks all wrong. Green just doesn't seem right as if you adjusted the color a little too far towards yellow to get the sky looking that way (I like the sky BTW).

Overall though I think this is a successful shot that you could sell.

I like it because it looks almost like a postcard.

This shot rocks. The bright and crazy colors and the exaggerated highlights work well, the people and gull add elements of depth, as does the inclusion of the beach. The horizon is well placed and the pier adds another element of interest.

A wonderful surreal shot that you should be proud of. This is going into my favorites list for 2007.

Sorry Lalo....I just can't get past the blown out areas. Everyone else seems to like it though, so that puts me in the minority. I do like how you composed it though.

    Re: HB sunset

Really interesting colors happening in the background. I find myself looking up at the upper 1/3 to 1/2 of the photo and not caring about the bottom part. Not that the bottom is 'bad', but compared to the top, it is boring, even with the bird there. I doubt you should do anything about the blown out area in the sand cause it also creates the interesting situation in the background.

You have a very nice medium in the original to go wherever you want with this one. your edited version stunned me at first but it is growing on me. I think you have a few different versions here to try. Go for it!...before you start..straighten the horizon..ala pier.
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!
    Thx, Rod

    Re: HB sunset

I didn't see where you didn't want me messing with your photos, so I tweaked a little. I prefer a more natural look. I warmed it a bit, increased the saturation a bit, adjusted the contrast with a slight curve, then straightened the horizon and cropped, and slightly sharpened.

    Since you don't mind..

I like the dreamy effect of the original posting the best. Seems you could sell prints of it in Laguna Beach
