Great shot Gary, The color and tones in the sky and the silhouetteof the plants I love.
There is some orange on the plants that seem a bit over saturated and don't quite fit the mood.

    Hi Gary,
I like the sharp and the unsharp branches facing each other in the shot. It seems that they are talking to each other. The orange colour seems to depict the end of the world to me. Nice shot!

    Re: Phragmite Silhouettes

Mark . . .thanks for your thoughts. I agree with you on the stalks. The colors were actually brought out more from the color graduated ND filter. But I think I will be reducing color in the stalks for better effect.

Yoyo . . .Glad you mentioned the sharp and unsharp stalks. The unsharp stalk further back I thought added a bit of drama to the scene, but that was really my concern for feedback. Very happy to hear that it works for you. Thanks again

    Gary,

Love it. The colors are great, the focusing sharpness is great, and everything just works. Your DOF is perfect!

    Very well done,

    Jared

    Dear Gary,

I know everyone so far has liked the out of focus stalk, but I find it slightly distracting. I like how you put the stalks against a red background, though the left most stalk blends slightly in with the dark part of the background. An interesting picture.

Thanks for your input, Drew. And good to know what your take is on the in and out of focus stalks.

Gary WTG on the big 2000!

This is a very nice image. The kind you might find on the wall of a nice office with a lot of polished wood and leather.

Cool. What were the exposure settings?

    Re: Phragmite Silhouettes

Thanks Almo, I'm not sure about the exposure settings on this one although I used a ND filter to achieve some defintion in the stalks and lower portion of frame.

Very nice, Gary. The blurred warm tones of the background are very inviting and the composition is well thought out. I may have either made all the silhouetted reeds blurry or none at all.
