    Two from Bristol

    Hi all

I have spent the last couple of days in Bristol helping my son to move into a new place (only leaving one at home now!)

I managed to get a little time for photography though ...

The first is a jogger on a very cold and frosty morning.

The second is a portrait of my daughter in my son's new place (before it was clutterered up with furniture!)

As always, any comments will be very welcome.

    Cheers
    Mike

I really like both of these. Any more "critiquing" than that would be like me trying to tell Steve Jobs how to run Apple.

May I inquire as to the specs? How did you meter? How (and on what) did you focus? What were the settings? Focal length? Was this 645 or 35mm format? Did you do anything at all in post?

draymorton .. thank you very much for your kind words.

I use a Pentax K10D - and nothing in post except the usual levels, contrast, a little colour adjustment, etc.

The first one was aperture priority as I wanted a maximised depth of field. iso 200, f16, 1/45sec. I focussed just past the tree and bench, knowing that the f16 would still keep them sharp.

The second one was shutter priority - 1/30 as the inside light wasn't too bright and I wanted a comfortable hand-holding speed. f3.5 in this instance but that didn't bother me as everything important was more or less in the same plane of focus. I focussed on her face.

    Cheers
