    Morning Flower in Macro

My 1st photos using my new Canon 100mm L Macro lens. I need some critique. The 1st of the photos seems more out of focus. Maybe I was rushing it too much, didn't take enough time. Really would appreciate your in-put.

First of all I must confess that I´m jealous...that is a very nice piece of glass...hopefully I can get my paws on one of those soon.

The bouquet is excellent...very soft (the magic of that L glass) and the detail is also superb. Nice shots.

Really like the second shot , there is plenty to see which is in sharp focus and great saturation

The fist one is sharp only at the very beginning and the it is softer all over, saturation is not as intense

Being close to the subject I do not think the bokeh will degrade much by using a smaller aperture, I have a contact in flickr that uses the same lens and gets great results with F8

Are this taken in a short period of time ? Is it the same flower after it closed ?

These photos were taken at the same timel, two different flowers. I've had my eye on these flowers for a couple of weeks. In the morning they look like curley ribbon and once the sun comes out and towards afternoon/evening they look like an open daisy. I'm not sure what they are. Thanks so much for the in-put. I love this lens. Haven't had a lot of play time yet. The wind has made it kind of hard to play.

Actually the first does seem just a bit off, which is a shame, because it is damned good except for that.
