    Grass and Sunset

    Heya all...

I posted one or two of these before, but I'd like to know which of them people like best and why. I know which ones I like best, but I'm not always able to really figure out why.

The first one I like but I don't think its a great photo. It's lacking something in the composition for me. I don't know if I'm nuts or if its really weak or what.

The second one I like, the colors turned out spectacular, but I think its probably weaker than the third one.

I really like the third. I think the single blade of grass really worked the best and made it more powerful of a shot. Again, maybe its just me and I'm nuts

The fourth one, I like, again, quite a bit. This one was my parents favorite, but not mine. I think the composition turned out great, as well as the colors, but for me I think the fact that the grass isn't sharp through the entire curve is a bit off putting for me.

I'd love to know what others think!

I think the first pic is the best one for me as i like the overall look of the landscape, the others are nice for the colour effect. .

They are all beatiful, however I like the third as well. In the first image, the horizon line is centered in the frame and is fighting the reeds in the forground for domination. Perhaps a different angle where the horizon could have been lowered in the frame.

The second and third create a more abstract image and with low horizons realy set off the silouettes of the reeds. The third is my favorite because the reeds on the bacground give the image depth.

The forth image has an amazing contrast of color however it does not have the depth of image three.

I just became a memeber and look forward to posting images for your critique.

They all have very power colors! I do like your choice of a subject in the foreground, the grasses, but somehow I wish they were just a little bigger in the image and also just a tad bit sharper. But you successfully captured the moment here - grasses blowing in the evening breeze, as the sun sets. Very nice.

Perhaps it would look nice if you printed all of them out and made a coliage... They all seem to work together.

    Re: Grass and Sunset

The way you portrayed these 4 images are all so different that, in my opinion, they all say different things to me and so one is not "better" than the others.

How's that for being politically correct If you twisted my arm behind my back really hard, I would say #3 is my favorite. I like how the two main stalks end in the contrasting bands of the sky background.

Bravo for working the scene and not just "point and shooting".

    What's a Loupe for anyway?
