Golden Gate Bridge
From Baker Beach in SF.
Any thoughts? I was thinking about heading back that way and would appreciate some suggestions. I personally think this is a little dark, but it's hard to balance the lights.
Thanks,
PC

Re: Golden Gate Bridge
PC,
A little dark? Holy smokes, if you change one moment of this photo you will have made a mistake. This is terrific. Absolutely terrific. All I can say is, well done. I am envious.

Re: Golden Gate Bridge
I think you pretty well nailed it. A longer exposure to brighten it would make the lights too over exposed. They almost are already. Nice shot of something that's been photographed a zillion times.
It might be tilted a wee little bit to the left but I'm not sure.

Re: Golden Gate Bridge
As the others said, this is just about as perfect as it gets. Very nice shot

Re: Golden Gate Bridge
I love the different hues that you captured in this image and as the others have said, you nailed it.

Re: Golden Gate Bridge
Great shot, the colours are amazing. How many attempts did it take?? till you got it just right.

Re: Golden Gate Bridge
Fantastic shot, PC! Not too dark at all.

Re: Golden Gate Bridge
I live in San Francisco not far from that bridge and see it so often. This is one of the best views I have ever seen of it. The rocks are so organic against the lights and the bridge itself. The ligting, as has been remarked, is spot on. I also agree to do nothing about the exposure etc. Unless you want to fix something that isn't broken! :D

CF, Frog, Jetrim, Roger, krann, cm_mtb, & Michael,
Thank you for all the nice comments - what a pleasant surprise.
krann - I had been to this spot before, but found fog and clouds and didn't get the shot I was looking for. I saw the weather forecast and left work early to get there in time for sunset. All told, I took over 100 shots trying to get one I was happy with.
Michael - Have you ever been down on the water on the other side of the bridge (Marin Headlands side)? If so, I'd love to chat with you. I've been up on the headlands, but I want to get down on the water when the sun is setting. I'll have to wait for one of the hot spells though to skip the fog.

Re: Golden Gate Bridge
i love the first shot, especially the glow of the water near the shore.
the second night shot seems too saturated and colourful for my taste though.
but the day shot is great!

PC,
As others have said, Do not change a thing. I also like it.

Re: Golden Gate Bridge
PC,
Now you have created a dilemma: which shot do I prefer, the original post or now this daytime shot with the waves crashing on the rocks. Another well executed shot. Congrats on the POD. Should have been Feature of the Week!

Re: Golden Gate Bridge
As others have said, this is wonderful. I wouldn't change a thing. I can't decide which I like better, #1 or #3. They are both excellent.

Re: Golden Gate Bridge
I like both of the landscape versions very much and think they are great!  I'm not much on the portrait version for this scene, Jeff

Re: Golden Gate Bridge
Geez, these are all just fantastic.

Re: Golden Gate Bridge
Well I have to chime in here with my 2 cents worth. While I absolutely love the original shot I think the second night shot in portrait format with it's iridescent glow is the winner.

Re: Golden Gate Bridge
Incredible shots, I really like the daylight one too
I am envious, I live near that bridge and have never taken anything close to something that good!

The daylight photo with the waves is one of the nicest photo's of the bridge that I have seen.
Excellent execution.
