Gotta love that sunrise backlight!

I like the colour... It reminds me of 70's rock album artwork - in a good way.
Did you get this look purely from the sun? I like it a lot!

This was taken using slide film and believe it or not that is how it looks on the slide. No Photoshop tom-foolery here! Though I must admit I love Photoshop.
Anyway, that's how it came out. Guess the sun was just right. It literally was taken at sunrise on a piece of virgin prairie(read: never been tilled or turned over in any way). I'm sure there was haze or fog or praire mist or whatever filling the air to cause that colour.
Not really backlight, more like rim light.

WOWEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

If there are any flower freaks out there i would love to know exactly what it is. I think it is oxeye daisy, but not 100% certain.

Greeting card material. Yup! That's what it is. Another wall hanger on the forum. I'm starting to get a little intimidated with all the great images I am seeing here on this forum. Makes me realize my talent isn't that good. So humbling......

Don't be intimidated.
I'm just sharing these images so people like you can see the potential out there. I've looked at your profile and you've definitely got the gear to make images like this(I've got virtually the same kit right now).
Right place right time, a little vision and you've got it.
I'll tell you right now it's taken me a long time and a lot of slides in the bin to get where I'm at. That's just one of the keepers. The bin is overflowing!
Keep shootin' and you'll get there.

Not familiar with these album covers you're talking about, but the cover of anything is fine by me!

This is one fine shot. Are the bright fibrils running along the stem sharp on the slide? I like the way they appear here but a ahot with them tack sharp would also be very nice. I especially like how the out of focus flower in the background appears. Are you selling prints?

I have sold this print a couple of times.
The fibrils are sharper towards the top. I think the fibrils themselves may even have tinier fibrils coming off them giving an impression of fuzziness. That said the stem of the flower may actually be leaning towards the camera, hence the slight fuzziness as you travel down the stem. My main focus was on the head using a very large aperture.

I can only echo what others have already said about a fantastic photo - the strong veritical composition, the wonderful light, very great use of DOF and sharp focus. It is great to be able to capture moments like this, thanks for sharing it.

Well, here's another good comment:p The thing that makes this picture from a great photo to an excellent photo is the smaller flower on the lower right hand side of it. That just makes the pic absoluetly amazing in my eyes! And not even photoshop! Wow!:D
