    The Salton Sea

Bombay Beach.... one of the more unusual spots there.

GB...the light and color range are very nice but I have to say that the scene itself is kind of....lacks strength IMO. :blush2:

    Re: The Salton Sea

Thanks Rob. It's more of a documentary shot than anything, but it does seem to lack a strong subject.

G - I agree somewhat with BlueRob, but I appreciate the documentary nature as well. I like how you have the lines leading to the sun, but the overall shot feels like it's lacking a bit of contrast. I'm guessing this is HDR?

Its interesting but i agree with the other posters about it lacking strength and contrast. To me it just looks a bit... flat or monotone in the coloring of it.

PC - Yes, it is an HDR. I was seeing if anyone realized that Easy to bump up contrast (just hard to reverse).

You're right on the vanishing point lines, I didn't even notice that!

Your HDR's are very well done. This is by far the best one of the series. Beautifly nasty.

Saw it shortly after it was posted but time prevented me from responding.
I did suspect hdr but just want to say, that you do them very well so that they aren't obvious or cartoonish.
I wish I knew what I was looking at though.

    Re: The Salton Sea

Thanks fellows. Here is the location:

Greg, Frog - Thanks, I want to keep them as normal looking as possible. Not that I object to others using more extreme effects... It's just that I am acquiring a lot of PP tools and I think those are sufficient for wild stuff. Frog, the other one of the Junk was an HDR too - I was wondering if you would guess!

Armando, this place definitely feels that way, just without the bodies. But I wouldn't be at all surprised to find one out there. But also to my surprise, they actually seem to be trying to clean up the Salton Sea a little .. have apparently torn down the old abandoned hotel and replaced it with a new Yacht club that's set to open in May. I'll have to go back and see it.

    Re: The Salton Sea

Agreed...my type of HDR...smooth and effective without taking out the quality of the photograph.
