In a land of Black & White- some Color

While I was up at the ghost town of Bodie this weekend, I noticed that inside the buildings there wasn't much in the way of colorful objects. Since I've been there a couple times, I decided to go check out some buildings I hadn't been to before. Inside one of them, I saw this piece of rag and the color of it really caught my attention.

    Shot with:

    Nikon D2h
    Sigma 150mm Macro
    1/6 Sec @ F16

Background turned to Blk/White in PS CS2

    C&C welcome:

I like your idea but the rag is a little too hot be be believeable. I would try to lower the saturation a little.

I just realized that after I read your post

It looked ok on my monitor at home, but that was at 7am, and I had only gotten about 6 hours of sleep

I still like it. Maybe the high saturation level makes is all that more interesting. I have seen cloth that color and while I certainly undestand the saturation comment, the boldness of the color enhances the lines and age of the wood. Good eye.

I think I know the answer to my question from your other photo. I have not been to Body in years. I gather it is still there gathering dust.

I was looking at this photo at home (the color version) and the saturation looks really good. Its when its turned B&W it looks over saturated
