    Tuna,

This is a nice picture. The way the stairs go up makes me want to climb over the fence disregarding the sign and go on up. The composition is setup well also, one thing that is making me uncomftorable is it looks like what the guy is looking at is interesting, and it takes my focus away from the guy himself, and the subject at hand.

Don't get me wrong though, I still like the picture. A very interesting subject.

This is a neat picture. I agree with F-15 about the stairs...I really like the fence and the barbed wire as well. It's a strange crop though. I feel like the photo should be shifted about an inch to the left...does that make sense?
    Nice overall. :)

Yes, Emily, I do know what you mean. I've had this image for a while and kind of like it but it also has continued to mystify me - I posted it to see what you folks would say. It appears as if I took a shot of the stairs, fence, etc. without ever considering that this gentleman was standing right there. Makes for an awkward image to look at.

I like the comp as it is, but i feel I would have liked the shot just as much, or more, without the man . I like the narrow steps leading up to the ominous sky. The Danger Keep Out sign tops it off as well as the barbed wire. Everything about the scene tells me the sign speaks the truth

If the chap wasn't in this photo the title could have been "stairway to heaven" and would have been a lot more powerful.

I think the chap does nothing for this photo and its as if you didn't see him.

He's looking out of the photo and seems to distract from the rest which is good. If his expression was more angry and looking more at the camera it would add to the picture as if he's upset about the closure of the "stairway to heaven".
