Fun diversion - Do I have to do EVERYTHING?
As evidenced by the fact I'm not around so much lately, my schedule has been pretty hectic between my day job and a shooting schedule that has exploded recently. After a big studio shoot yesterday, I took some time out to try a concept that's been kicking around in my head for a while. I'm reasonably happy with the result, but wonder if it really works, or if I'm a bit biased  This self portrait clone shot is a merge of 7 frames, all taken with the 20 second timer.

Glad everyone likes it so far, it was a bit of work. Hard to see at this resolution, but indeed 7 costumes, 7 hairstyles, 5 prs of shoes, and shaving a little bit at a time from full beard down to clean shaven. Thought my GF was gonna have a coronary right on the sofa when I walked out in the stylist outfit (spandex, silk shirt, gelled hair, pencil-thin mustache, & reading glasses). Took about an hour to execute, then the photoshop work.

An Hour ?!?!? WTF?!@?! That's an insanely short period of time for so many costume changes not to mention beards. I assure you, if I had been your GF I would have been on the floor in stiches with the giggles!!! AWESOME!!!:D

I'm in the one hour amazement crowd. Takes me that long to change my clothes once.
Well done and admire your creative mind and the ability to execute the thought.

Is execute the right word. How about I'm glad you could bring the idea to fruition?

While I am in awe of the final product - the lighting, comp, the general execution of the idea itself - what most impresses me is the styling, the poses/body language, and your obvious ability to get into character. Most photographers would have trouble pulling off one of these personalities convincingly in an SP, but you've nailed them all - and in a ridiculously short period of time (I can practically hear "Flight Of The Bumblebee" as the soundtrack to what must have been some pretty frantic wardrobe changes). You're believable here as not just the photog, but the subject, the assistants, and, yes (I hate to tell ya), the makeup artist.

Glad to see this get a feature. It took far more than photography and lighting skills to pull off with any degree of credibility. And beyond that... it's just plain fun to look at!

Don't know why I hadn't click on this before, glad I did it

Quite enjoyable , a terrific job as everybody said, incredible roll playing

I LOL at dray's commentary about imaging this with "flight of the bumblebee" background music

now ... a bit off-topic, Imagine the "stylist" working on Gary's steampunk character :D

They were a piece wardrobe left over from an Ed Hardy shoot a few months back.

Jet - Wow dude .. crazy, and a lot of work I am sure! Results are good. I think I would crop a little off the left side. I would actually like it better if you weren't so obviously posing (smiling too) but that's really an artistic tidbit and nit pick. Nice work and the black border adds to the shot. Use this on your web site.

Jet, thats an awesome portrayal of characters. If you ever come by this way,you must stop by so we can do a portrait together of whatever character you wish.
