Frozen Tidal Basin
It has been cold for a while and we finally got some snow. It was somewhat hard to be out in that cold and wind but I knew there should be some good images out there somewhere.
The sunrise started out with some clouds adding color but they quickly disappeared in the cold dry air.
3 at or near sunrise and a blue (and very cold and windy) twilight.

Re: Frozen Tidal Basin
A very nice job! Of the 4, I think No 2 is my favourite - the cloudy sky is wonderful and the obelisk in just the right place. I enjoyed No 3 too - you've got the shadows across the snow very nicely. The one problem is the slightly messy foreground on the right, but if you lose that you lose the tree too which is important. Not sure about No 4 - the fence seems to me to be too much of a barrier for the eyes to leap over. Even so, a really nice set.
Cheers

Re: Frozen Tidal Basin
I always have to check out the tidal basin shots, you always seem to get great colors. Haven't seen it this time of year before, but just as nice. Personal fav is the first one. The darker colors, and the clouds are pleasing to me.

Re: Frozen Tidal Basin
Shows that getting up before dawn and braving the cold is WORTH it! Great shots, IMO. I esp like # 2 and also # 1, though it might be ever so slightly tilted. # 3 needs a skater. # 4 is OK but there should be something or someone standing there leaning against the cold railing and viewing the capital (agree?).
