    Frozen Leaf

Looks like walterrick and I are thinking along the same lines...hehe...

This was shot on Saturday, but unlike the "Contrasting Shapes and Colors" photo, I played in PSE 2 with this one. I tried not to use any "auto" corrections and tried to adjust everything manually...contrast, lighting, fill, etc...

I would consider this a finished print. What do you think? Is there more (or less) that I can do with it?

It is a leaf frozen in an unfinished fountain that was about half full of ice!!!

Nice pic, ken. What ever you did, it looks good in the image. It would do more for me if the focus had been more on the leaves; meaning mostly the leaves in the frame. There is just not enough details in them for me. Really nice pic overall, though.

I do have some of the leaves...and will try to post them...thanx for the overall comment...in this one, I was trying to show the ice as much as the leaves, and as I am still learning...was playing with the rule of thirds and tried putting the leaves in the bottom left 3rd.

Hey, we all learn together, ken. That's why i don't like saying I don't like the image at all since I don't know for sure what you were trying to do. For what you were doing, you did it very well. The leaves are in the bottom thrid, mostly clear ice in the middle, then some refelctions it seems in the top.

the reflection is killing it for me, unfortunately. It's just too much for the eye to focus on. You've got the right idea, just work on getting that reflection out of there.
