i like this shot alot, seb. the red draws me imediatley to the person, and then my eyes filter back over the grasses. yet is very simple. and just enough of the ocean. nice shot

What a peaceful picture! Did you stage the person sitting there, or just happen upon the scene? Wonderful composition...wouldn't change a thing!

    Re: Fresh sea

    Hi, Seb

My first impression is that your vantage point was a foot to a foot-and-a-half too low. It seems that there is a crowded horizontal line of interest being intersected by too many elements.

I'm imagining a shot where (from top to bottom) there would be 1) water horizon, 2) lady in red, 3) sand horizon, then 4) grass. Just my opinion of course.

    Always enjoy seeing your work!

    Re: Fresh sea

    Hi Seb,

I like the trails in the sand created by the blowing fronds of sea grass. They do look very fresh. I feel that a broader view of the ocean might have divided the frame too neatly. I like it. It seems to have a more subdued mood than you usually display and feels like a departure kind of image. (Did that make sense?)

Hey, pretty neat. I like the foreground and I like the red-coated person. My only wish is that the person would have been larger in the frame, and maybe even another person (in a yellow raincoat) there too! I like the blank spot in the lower left side of the frame - seems to open it up nicely.

This photo takes my breath away

I think there is such serenity in the photo and I love the way it's shot.

Dylan8i: Thanks a lot, I am glad that you enjoy.

Ladybugamanda: No staging here (or anywhere else in the series)!! This friend was just sitting here, admiring the scenery and it caught me. Actually, she don't even know that this picture exist yet... lol

    Creg: Thanks man!

Loupey: Thanks for sharing your view. I guess that I see where you are going. Unfortunatelly, I only shot one frame.

CLKunst: Thanks! A departure? Not necessarily but I see exactly what you mean. Actually, I didn't thought about this one as a landscape (contrarily to most pictures I have submitted yet). I see this one as some sort of portrait (although it isn't literally a portrait). I was concerned about translating the relation betwen the subject and her surrounding rather than going for the big landscape thing. Also, this was shot on a foggy day with a muted light by opposition to every other pictures.

GB: A yellow coat? Now I'll have to carry a suitcase of costumes on location... lol
I agree that it could have been more graphic with more people. Thanks!

    Realworld: Thanks!

    J-Dogg: Thanks!

I love how the person and the lone bunch of grass vertically line up. Great shot, and good crop.

I REALLY like this photo. I like the contrast between the green and the sand. The background of the red guy and the ocean compliment it greatly.

Realworld: Thanks for looking. I use a Nikon D70 with two lenses as I further explain in the "Wrong direction" thread.

    Re: Fresh sea

I disagree about the photo needing more people..I think the effect comes in from the single person in red sitting which catches you eye. I think it's perfect as it is .......

    Re: Fresh sea

Very nice. I like how the forground is the focus and the person and sea are out of DOF... it seems to draw me farther in.

    Nice shot.
