    Fresh Fruit

    Shot at my friends house saw a fruit tray in decent lighting and snagged this. Fresh Fruit-dsc_0169.jpg

    Good touchup. It works in a lot of ways, I think. I like the colors and the shapes of the fruit. I like the fact that you used a shallow DOF also.

    Now, for how it could be better. I'm a bit distracted by two things: the bottom left edge of the plate, which seems somewhat like a mistake, and the upper left bright area. Neither are fatal or anything but I think they distract.

    One thing I wonder about the pic; shallow DOF should be used to pull a viewer's attention to a particular area. I ask myself, why am I pulled to this particular area ... The orange is pretty but the lemon steals the attention, and it's not quite perfect on the skin or what not.

    I think longer DOF would have been more appropriate here.

    There could be more specularity to the light, try dropping white point maybe.

    dof would of made this photo more eye catching but otherwise its a good shot and you have a good eye for seeing a good opportunity for a photo
