Fog in the Moon-Nightshots
Another Full Moon. The fog rolled in tonight so it made it a little more interesting and challenging. Any critiques always appreciated.

Darin,
I love all of them especially the first, initally I thought that the road was a lava flow :blush2: then quickly realized what it was. The only thing I would like to see would be a little sharper image (focus), but I do not know how to get it other than setting up my manual focus, film gear before dark (ISO 800 1 minute @ F11) and waiting several hours for one exposure.
IMHO you are doing something very remarkable. I look forward to your shots, as soon as I see the screen name.
Re: Fog in the Moon-Nightshots
Thanks Bill,
I have figured out how to focus, but my DOF need help on these. F4.5 didn't cut it. I'll try F11 tomorrow night "blue moon". For the focus I use a 2 million power spotlight for shots that I'm not shooting Infinite. Seems to work most of the time. As soon as my camera locks on to the spotlight an beeps, I switch back to manual focus to hold the focus.
Thanks for the tips..much appreciated

Re: Fog in the Moon-Nightshots
That moonlight gives such an eery-in-a-good-way look. Ditto about the lava flow! It would be hard to say which one I like best -- they are all good for different reasons. The sheer impressiveness of the fog in the first, the colors and tranquility of the second, and the road on fire interest of the third!

I love these day-for-night shots. Is that traffic? It does look like lava, which makes it all the more interesting. I almost feel that it can be interpreted either way.

Thanks. The white lights in#1 is two cars headlights heading down the hill. The red that looks like lava is one car's tail lights heading up the hill.

First one is brilliant. I am jealous.
Re: Fog in the Moon-Nightshots
Darin - Somehow, to me, it looks like fire though I know it's car light trails. The bottom ones' compositions are a bit cluttered but I like the top one; the fog and lights make it seem like fire creating smoke, even though it isn't. That puts a twist in the shot. Funny,
